Mission & Purpose
Knowing Jesus and Making Jesus Known
“And they were continually devoting themselves to the Apostles’ teaching, to fellowship, to the breaking of bread, and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the Apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common.” Acts 2:42-44
With these words in the second chapter of Acts, the early Christian Church became alive. Those things which made that early movement flourish are still the important components which allow the church to thrive today.
The purpose of our church is to come together as the body of Christ, to worship our Lord, to build up one another and to go forth and witness the name of Jesus Christ.
Our Beliefs
As a United Methodist congregation, we stand in the long tradition of Christians who affirm our faith through the Apostles’ Creed.
I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth;
And in Jesus Christ his only Son, our Lord;
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, dead, and buried;
the third day he rose from the dead;
he ascended into heaven,
and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty;
from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.
